La Robéyère commits to a Roof for bees
Acting to reduce our impact and promoting environmental protection actions are at the heart of our actions and concerns. La Robéyère has always been committed to an eco-responsible approach (see the Environmental Charter Our eco-responsible approaches | La Robéyère (larobeyere.com).
Bee protection
Bee protection is one of the causes we support as they are a central element in balancing biodiversity. Indeed, they participate in:
- Pollination of crops: Bees play an essential role in the pollination of plants, including many food crops. By pollinating flowers, they promote the production of fruits, vegetables and nuts, thus contributing to food security.
- Biodiversity: Bees pollinate crops, but also wild plants. They thus contribute to the diversity of ecosystems, which is fundamental to maintaining balanced natural habitats.
- Economy: Beekeeping is an important economic activity. The production of honey, beeswax and other bee products generates income for many communities. Protecting bees also supports local jobs and economies.
- Food: Many foods depend on bee pollination. Fruits, vegetables, nuts and even some livestock products need pollination to grow. A decline in bees could lead to a decrease in the availability of these products.
- Ecological balance: Bees are an integral part of food webs and the food chain. Their disappearance would impact other animal and plant species, disrupting the balance of ecosystems.
- Ecosystem services: Bees provide invaluable ecosystem services. Their pollination activities enable plant reproduction, regulate floral diversity and contribute to carbon sequestration.
- Climate change adaptation: Bees can play a role in pollinating plants that are adapted to climate change. Their protection could therefore contribute to the resilience of ecosystems to the challenges of climate change.
A Roof for Bees
La Robéyère is committed to Un Toit pour les Abeilles. This association works to preserve bees. Based on the values of protecting biodiversity and raising awareness of the importance of bees, this non-profit organization offers individuals and businesses the opportunity to take concrete action by sponsoring hives and participating in beekeeping projects.
Thanks to a network of committed beekeeping partners, ‘Un Toit pour les Abeilles’ works to save these insects while educating the public on the challenges of their preservation. By sponsoring a hive, members support the production of local honey, participate in the protection of biodiversity and contribute to raising awareness of the crucial importance of bees for our environment.
